  • Garlic: 4–6 cloves — finely minced or grated

  • Salt: ½ tsp
  • Black pepper: ⅛ tsp

Instructions

1. Heat the oven

  • Heat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Line a sheet pan with foil for easy cleanup.

2. Make the garlic butter

  • In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and olive oil.
  • Mix until smooth and evenly combined.

3. Prepare the bread

  • Slice the loaf in half lengthwise.
  • Spread the garlic butter evenly across both cut sides, edge to edge.
  • If using Parmesan, sprinkle it on now for a melted top.

4. Bake

  • Place the bread halves cut-side up on the sheet pan.
  • Bake 10–12 minutes, until the butter is melted and the edges are golden.
  • For a crispier top, broil 1–2 minutes at the end, watching closely.
